Tigg + Coll designed the interiors of the amenity spaces to a new student accommodation building in Sheffield. This includes the entrance lounge and genius bar at ground floor, with a range of social spaces including a lounge, breakfast bar area, karaoke/screening room and gaming room, as well as shared study spaces and meeting rooms. At lower ground, a Wellness Suite is created that also functions as a fitness studio for yoga classes, looking out onto the external courtyard.

The interior palette takes cues from the local history of the Sheffield steel industry. The double-height entrance lounge and study mezzanines are opened up through the use of metal-framed glazed screens, with red clay-block walls and a feature breakfast bar designed as a continuous folded steel plate, which creates a focal point in the centre of the student lounge.

The schemes USP is the large roof terrace which we configured including a bar, rooftop cinema and outdoor barbecue and dining areas, which link to the internal private dining area looking onto the terrace.
