The newly consented scheme creates 21 new 1, 2 and 3 bedroom homes including associated amenity spaces for residents.
Although both projects have a shared design philosophy and are designed to relate to one another they each have an entirely sperate client and to some degree brief.
Much time was spent considering the architectural heritage of the local conservation area and reinterpreted some of the detailing in the grand Victorian houses so that the contemporary development and homes could sit comfortably next to and within the context of its surrounding.
A material palette has been selected which reflects the surrounding residential brick tones and to compliment the neighbouring consented scheme across the road but with the aim to give the two buildings distinct individual identities within the streetscape. Taking on board circular economy principles, our ambition is to reuse as much of the existing original brick stock from demolition of the existing building on the site as possible in the creation of the new homes.
The project is scheduled to commence on site in 2023.
